Update to Our Community
New Worship Opportunity in Spanish
One family or group from the same household can now worship in person on Sundays in our church at the 12:30 p.m. service in Spanish of Oración Matutina, Morning Prayer.
The previous Sunday, November 29, saw the first such in-person service at the church since the Vestry voted in mid-March to suspend in-person services indefinitely, because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Rev. Germán Sotres presided and preached. In-person and “virtual” celebration of the Eucharist remain banned by our bishop’s order.
That First Sunday of Advent service was streamed live on our Spanish-language Facebook page, Christ Church MX 2020. Our energetic seminarians Adrián Cajiga and Antonio Abiel offer “virtual” Oración Matutina live there on Monday at 7:50 a.m. and Tuesday through Friday at 9:30 a.m.
Video of all these services is posted on our Facebook page in Spanish.
A family or group in the same epidemiological “pod” interested in attending the Sunday service in the nave of our church at Montes Escandinavos 405 in Lomas de Chapultepec should contact senior warden Jennifer Holden at warden@christchurch.mx.
The precautionary “pod’ stipulation generally means that grandma and grandpa could go with the grandkids only if they actually live in the same physical space.
