We are sad to report two deaths that touch our community.
John Wigg, age 92, died on Thursday at his home in Valle de Bravo. Born in England and reared in Argentina, he and his now-late wife Joyce moved to Mexico City in 1960, after stints in Vancouver and Toronto. He had been a member of Christ Church ever since.
In his career, he was highly regarded internationally as an insurance and re-insurance broker and played a role as a representative of the British merchant bank Baring Brothers in arranging international financing for Pemex. In his parish, he was appreciated as a kind and gentle man.
His survivors include his three children, Simon, Nichola, and John; their spouses, and four grandchildren.
Jerry Sotres Cervantes, a brother of our Padre Germán, died on December 28 at age 48. His survivors include his wife, Ángeles, and daughters, Anita and Sofia.
Our heartfelt sympathies to all.
