Born in the U.K. in 1947, I am a lifelong Anglican. I joined Christ Church when my daughter was born in 1977; she was christened when the church was still on Artículo 123. During her childhood, I taught Sunday School under the guidance of Nancy Howard, and watched as our new church was built.
Christ Church was there for me when my life began to fall apart and helped me find the spiritual strength to leave México in 1993 and start life anew in the U.S. Somehow it was only fitting that I should return here when I retired.
My work background includes being a production manager and editor; running an art gallery, document depository, and law office; as well as serving as a U.S. Social Security disability-claims case manager and senior administrative assistant at the International Monetary Fund.
This would be my first time on the Vestry. However, I have always been active in church service in some capacity: Altar Guild, licensed Lay Eucharistic Minister, Healing Ministry, Lay Reading Ministry, greeter, usher, collection counter, thrift-shop volunteer, fundraising events, outreach programmes.
I would consider it an honour and privilege to serve Christ Church on the Vestry, and give back to this cherished community.
