Born February 4, 1964, I was baptized at Christ Church in 1969, and have been a member since.
I sang in the children’s choir and later the adult choir for more than 20 years. I have worked closely with the Ladies Guild ( now the Guild), Christmas Bazaars, Garage Sales, Thanksgiving dinners, and countless concerts and other events.
Over the years, I have witnessed our congregation change immensely. Few of our original expat families remain. We have become a floating population of people who stay in Mexico for shorter periods of time, Mexicans who join our ranks mostly because they have been disappointed in their own churches, and most recently, Anglicans from faraway African countries searching for a better life here.
I believe I have a good understanding of our needs as a parish.
My dearest friends are from Christ Church, and I truly appreciate what it has given me all these years: a family and a network we can rely on; fulfilling, busy work in helping or bringing joy to others.
My main concern is that our church continue to grow according to the reality of our times. That people who feel lost, alone, or misunderstood may find solace, friendship, and understanding in our parish.
The direction we take as a church should be directed by the majority – More involvement is needed.
It would be a privilege to serve on the Vestry.
