Our search for a new Rector is in a potentially decisive phase.
With the consent of the Vestry, the Search Committee has invited the Rev. Elisabeth Sinclair to visit next week. Ordinarily a rector candidate would preach to us at least once and engage more widely, but because of the pandemic, opportunities to visit with her will be limited.
Specifically, parishioners are invited to sign up for 15-minute individual visits with her between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on this Wednesday, April 28.
Appointments will be apportioned on a first-come basis, with one appointment per household, please.
Please contact parish secretary Mary Rosa Casar by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone at 55 5202-0949 or 55 5520-3763.
An associate priest at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Kansas City, Missouri, in the United States and a staff chaplain for a large health-care system there whose core hospital was founded by an Episcopal priest almost 150 years ago, Mother Elisabeth was ordained a priest in that city five years ago.
A 1996 graduate of Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she later received a Master of Divinity degree in 2011, her path to her calling has taken her through experiences so diverse as teaching English in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Bouaké, the second-largest city in Ivory Coast, as well as working as a barista and shift supervisor in a Starbucks near Waukesha.
Mother Elisabeth will be accompanied next week by her husband, the Rev. Bryan Spoon, who is also a priest of the Episcopal Church, which of course is the Province of the Anglican Communion in the United States.
