Would you like to join a Christ Church (bilingual) women’s Bible study? Contact Caroline Olorede or Marlene Bolanos ASAP to be added to the WhatsApp group and receive updates. Most meetings will be held by Zoom on Tuesday evenings, 8:00-9:30 p.m., with monthly Sunday afternoon in-person meetings.
Would you like a home/work exercise bicycle? Christ Church has 12 of these available for immediate pick-up. The bicycles are new and were only used in a commercial advertisement. The original unit price was $3100 mxn/each. Please contact the office to make your best offer and begin to improve your health and circulation!
Special upcoming events:

• THIS WEEK ~ Fri & Sat, Oct. 16th-17th: The Christ Church Garage Sale, organized and hosted by the Guild, will be open to the public Friday-Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Guild needs volunteers to help with set-up and organization on Thursday, customer assistance on Friday & Saturday, and clean-up on Saturday afternoon, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Please sign up at the sign-up at the ushers’ table if you can help, even for a few hours.
• Dec. 5th: The Christmas Bazaar, also hosted by the Guild, is coming! Some ways that you can help include:
• Recruit (and/or financially sponsor their spot in the Bazaar for roughly $2000 mxn) an artisan whose handiwork you respect. All artisans (or their sponsors) should contact Mary Rosa ASAP to reserve a table.
• Contribute high-quality items with which the Vestry may prepare 4-5 gift basket raffle prizes. (We’ll start with these themes: “Bath & Body,” “Tea & Coffee,” “Wine & Cheese,” “Fancy hors d’oeuvres,” & “Snack Packs.” Thank you, in advance, for your generosity.) The raffle collection basket is located at the ushers’ table.

• Dec. 24th: Family-friendly Journey to the Créche

How is Christ Church’s financial situation as we enter the 4th quarter of 2026?

• We thank God to be meeting our budget! Every financial offering from parishioners helps us care for friends and strangers, provide weekly worship services, compensate our staff, pay our utilities, provide needed maintenance to our facilities, etc.
• We appreciate the wider community’s financial support of Christ Church. The AA group has added two morning sessions per week in addition to their daily evening meetings. The Escuela Sierra Nevada has begun Physical Education classes on the patio twice/week. Office occupants, including the American Benevolent Society, contribute to economic stability.
• Note: Our maintenance expenses have been higher than we anticipated, and we have some pressing projects still ahead. If you receive blessing from Christ Church (through worship services, coffee hour, children’s Sunday school, Eucharistic lay ministry, pastoral care, etc.), and you have not yet contributed financially to Christ Church in calendar year 2026 but are able to do so, please make your donation this month.


HOW MIGHT HOSPITALITY AT CHRIST CHURCH LOOK?

~ Ask someone their name and how they are today, then listen attentively.
~ Express respectful curiosity about their life, and give them an easy way out of the conversation if they seem shy, uncomfortable, or short on time…
~ Invite them to stay for coffee hour & sit with you. Introduce them to others.
~ Ask if they have any questions about Christ Church; help them find the answers.
~ Respond compassionately to any needs they verbalize (as you are able).


It’s time for our annual Harvest Season Collection for the Casa Hogar La Divina Providencia, a home on the eastern edge of Mexico City for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. Donations will be accepted beginning this week through Sunday, November 15th.

COURTESY REMINDER: Christ Church’s security guard is contracted through a private security company. His/her primary responsibilities are: 1) to guard the main entrance by knowing who is entering and exiting and by asking questions to clarify any unfamiliar or uncomfortable scenarios; 2) to prevent and intervene in any potentially dangerous situations;
3) to receive packages and donations for Christ Church;
4) and to take notes and photographs to document all of the above.

Please do not request other help from the Security Guard without first requesting permission through Edgar Gomez in the church office (or the Rector or Vestry Wardens on a Sunday).
As with all Christ Church employees, he/she is always to be treated with respect and appreciation.

• ESTA SEMANA ~ Viernes 16 y sábado 17 de octubre: La venta de garaje de Christ Church, organizada por el Guild, estará abierta al público el viernes y el sábado de 10:00 a. m. a 2:00 p. m. El Guild necesita voluntarios para ayudar con el montaje y la organización el jueves, la atención al cliente el viernes y el sábado, y la limpieza el
el sábado por la tarde, a partir de las 2:00 p. m. Por favor, anótese en la lista que se encuentra en la mesa dentro de las puertas del templo si puede ayudar, aunque sea por unas pocas horas.
• 5 de diciembre: ¡Se acerca el Bazar Navideño, también organizado por el Guild! Algunas formas en las que puede ayudar incluyen:
1. Invitar (y/o patrocinar económicamente su espacio en el bazar por aproximadamente $2,000 MXN) a un artesano cuyo trabajo usted valore. Todos los artesanos (o sus patrocinadores) deben comunicarse con Mary Rosa lo antes posible para reservar una mesa.
2. Aportar artículos de alta calidad con los que la Junta Parroquial (Vestry) pueda preparar entre 4 y 5 cestas de regalo para la rifa. (Comenzaremos con estas temáticas: "Baño y cuidado personal", "Té y café", "Vino y queso", "Aperitivos selectos" y "Paquetes de aperitivos/snacks". Gracias de antemano por su generosidad). La cesta para recoger las donaciones de la rifa se encuentra en la mesa de los ujieres.
3. ¡Invite a todos sus conocidos a asistir! ¡De verdad!

• 13 de diciembre: Festival de Lecturas y Villancicos (*Festival of Lessons and Carols*)
• 24 de diciembre: "Visita al Pesebre" (evento para toda la familia)

¿Cuál es la situación financiera de Christ Church al comenzar el cuarto trimestre de 2026?
• ¡Damos gracias a Dios por estar cumpliendo con nuestro presupuesto! Cada ofrenda económica de los feligreses nos ayuda a cuidar de amigos y desconocidos, ofrecer servicios de culto semanales, remunerar a nuestro personal, pagar los servicios básicos, realizar el mantenimiento necesario en nuestras instalaciones, etc.
• Agradecemos el apoyo económico de la comunidad en general hacia Christ Church. El grupo de AA ha añadido dos sesiones matutinas semanales, además de sus reuniones diarias por la tarde. La Escuela Sierra Nevada ha comenzado a impartir clases de educación física en el patio dos veces por semana. Los ocupantes de las oficinas, incluida la American Benevolent Society, contribuyen a nuestra estabilidad económica.
Nota: Nuestros gastos de mantenimiento han sido mayores de lo previsto y aún tenemos proyectos urgentes pendientes. Si usted recibe bendiciones a través de Christ Church (ya sea mediante los servicios de culto, el tiempo de café, la escuela dominical para niños, el ministerio eucarístico laico, la atención pastoral, etc.) y aún no ha realizado una contribución económica a la iglesia en el año 2026 —pero está en condiciones de hacerlo—, le rogamos que realice su donativo este mes.

~ Responda con compasión a cualquier necesidad que exprese (en la medida de sus posibilidades).

Ha llegado el momento de nuestra colecta anual de la temporada de cosecha para la Casa Hogar La Divina Providencia, un hogar ubicado en la zona este de la Ciudad de México que atiende a niños y adultos con discapacidades físicas y cognitivas. Se aceptarán donaciones desde esta semana hasta el domingo 15 de noviembre.

AVISO DE CORTESÍA: El guardia de seguridad de Christ Church está contratado a través de una empresa de seguridad privada. Sus responsabilidades principales son:
