Update to the Community

(27th March 2023)

Rev. Elisabeth Sinclair

Mar 27, 2023

Dear Parents – Children may play at the craft table at the back of the church – with parent supervision, please. We continue to pray for and actively seek children’s teachers. For a paid coordinator role, please see this Saturday’s Community Weekly email.

Saturday April 15, 3:00 p.m. is the rescheduled date for the Concert with Pablo Velázquez & Friends: “Rapsodia” Music for piano, organ and ensemble. $150.00 mxp per person or $100.00 mxp if a person brings a non-perishable food or other item for La Divina Providencia.
See a personal reflection by Heber Longhurst in this weekend’s Community Weekly email message.

The Choir welcomes those who enjoy singing, can carry a tune, and have an ear for learning music. If you’re interested, please speak directly with Maestro Juan Ernesto, the choir director.

There are also opportunities to be a Scripture reader, Intercessor (person who leads the Prayers of the People), and/or Usher on Sunday mornings. If interested, please contact Alix Elverson (alixelverson@aol.com).

Stay tuned for information regarding a class for those wishing to be confirmed or received at the bishop’s visit to Christ Church on June 11th.

Church Finances ~ Thank you to all those who have already made financial gifts in this first quarter of 2023. We are slightly ahead of our budget projection, which is a testimony to your generosity. We recently made a significant donation to the Casa Hogar Divina Providencia group home/orphanage. The Christ Church staff/employees have expressed their gratitude to the parish for the long overdue (though still incremental) wage increases we have been able to make this year.
